What paperwork do I need to have when submitting a claim?

Flat repairs are covered up to $40.00 for each occurrence; pre-approval is not required. A repair invoice only is needed.

Pre-approval is required for replacement tires covered at the current price as listed on Tirerack.com (up to $599). Proof of replacement tire purchase and proof of installation is needed to complete your claim and should be uploaded directly to the Nation Safe Drivers portal, where you obtained pre-approval.

Any other documentation requested by Nation Safe Drivers. For example, clear digital photos of the damage to the tire(s).

What vehicles are not eligible for Tire Road Hazard Protection?

The following vehicles are not eligible for Tire Road Hazard Protection:

  • Any vehicle designed for, built for or used in any commercial application.
  • Motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, motor homes, trailers, or on vehicles used for competitive driving or racing, police or emergency service, snow removal, commercial towing, construction, postal service, or any other commercial use.
  • Any vehicle used for farming, ranching, or agriculture, or any vehicle that is registered to or licensed to a farming or ranching business.

Is Tire Road Hazard Protection valid outside the U.S.?

Protection is only available to customers that have qualifying damage occur in the (50) United States.

Is roadside assistance available?

Included in your Tire Road Hazard Protection Coverage, Nation Safe Drivers offers complete roadside assistance, which includes:

  • Assistance changing your flat tire (using your good, inflated spare tire)
  • 25-mile complimentary towing*

*Towing available for tire-related services only. Towing to a tire service facility will be provided instead of tire changing service if your vehicle does not have a working spare tire that can be fitted.

What if I need help with a tire change or tow?

Included in your Tire Road Hazard Protection Coverage, Nation Safe Drivers will send a service provider to change your flat tire, using your good, inflated spare tire.

In the absence of a good spare, your vehicle will be towed to a tire service facility up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) miles.

Is Road Hazard Protection Tire Warranty?

No, Road Hazard Protection is an additional benefit covering items outside manufacturer tire warranties. This offers replacement for some tire issues that cannot be attributed to a defect or other condition covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty.
