Baseline Suspension Settings for Solo® Spec Coupe (SSC) Class Competitors

(Lea en español)

The following notes are intended as a starting point for your Solo® Spec Coupe (SSC) autocross set-up. On most dry, clean autocross surfaces these settings will result in moderate understeer to a neutral balance during steady state cornering and predictable behavior in fast transitions. Competitors are encouraged to use the range of adjustability available from the SSC suspension to best match your driving style and course conditions.

Alignment Settings

A good place to start with air pressure is in the low- to mid-30 psi range, depending on the wear you experience. Air pressure can be used to fine-tune the behavior of the vehicle to adjust for driver preference, and all adjustments should be made in 2 psi increments. It's tempting to drop air pressure while searching for more grip, but keep in mind this may lead to tire roll-over and rapid shoulder wear.

Front
Camber: -2.8 to -3.0 degrees (Verify clearance between strut spring perch and wheel/tire assembly. 3mm minimum clearance encouraged.)
Caster: 5 to 5.5 degrees
Toe: Zero

Rear
Camber: -2.25 degrees
Toe: 1/8th inch total toe-in

Suspension Settings

Front
Eibach Anti-roll bar: Soft position (furthest away from the anti-roll bar chassis mount)
KONI Sport Strut: 1.0 turns from the full soft position (2.5 total turns available)

Note: Increasing the front anti-roll bar stiffness will increase corner entry and steady state understeer if desired.

Rear
Eibach Anti-roll bar: Soft position (furthest away from the anti-roll bar chassis mount)
KONI Sport Strut: 1.5 turns from full soft position

Note: Increasing the rear anti-roll bar stiffness will reduce mid-corner understeer if present.
