The Grip Classic is Vredestein's On-Road All-Terrain tire developed for drivers of classic four-wheel drive vehicles who want a tire with a rugged, vintage look combined with modern construction. To emphasize the Grip Classic line's focus on vintage automobiles, Vredestein adds the statement "Tires designed only to be fitted to vehicles registered for the first time before 1 October 1990" to the tire label.
Grip Classic tires mold a special, adapted summer tread compound into a symmetric tread design with a classic off-road look. The open, aggressive pattern is designed to provide optimum grip in sand and mud, while also delivering on-road handling. Siping within the tread blocks create additional biting edges for wet traction, and the deep tread depth improves hydroplaning resistance.
The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of a two-ply polyester casing.
Note: Since the Grip Classic uses a summer (i.e. not all-season) tread compound, it is not intended to be stored, serviced nor driven in freezing or near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
