The Geolandar CV 4S is Yokohama's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of crossovers, small- and medium-sized SUVs and minivans looking for a comfortable, quiet ride combined with reassuring year round traction. Designed for confident traction every season as an all-weather tire, the Geolandar CV 4S meets or exceeds industry standards to earn the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol for use in light snow conditions.
Utilizing a new polymer blend tread compound molded into an asymmetric pattern, the Geolandar CV 4S incorporates distributed micro silica for improved wear. Pitch-sequencing helps dissipate noise generated in the center of the tread for a quiet ride. The zig-zag pattern of circumferential grooves works in conjunction with lateral notches to swiftly evacuate water from the contact patch. A generous distribution of wavy sipes in the tread blocks create additional biting edges for grip on slippery surfaces like snow and ice.
Internal construction of the Geolandar CV 4S features a dual-ply polyester body casing for strength and stability. Atop this layer are two high strength steel belts and a single ply nylon layer supporting the tread for confident performance at highway speeds.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.
