Michelin's Classic tires are designed for vintage automobiles. Using modern materials and manufactured to original specifications, these tires are manufactured in small batches and designed to preserve the vehicle's driving character alongside period-correct aesthetics.
The XVS is Michelin's Grand Touring Summer tire designed for classic cars. This modern iteration was engineered to improve and maintain the characteristics owners love about their vintage vehicles. Also available with a white sidewall, the XVS delivers driving excitement and traction in warm, dry and wet conditions.
The XVS takes the innovative asymmetric tread pattern pioneered on the XAS with current compounding technology to present a tire with the looks to satisfy classic owners with high-speed capability for the high performance vehicles of the 1970s. The lower void outer shoulder allows for more tread in continuous surface contact and greater available grip during cornering. Four circumferential channels move water away from where the tire makes contact to fight hydroplaning. In concert with the zig-zag inboard grooves and sipes to provide the biting edges needed in slippery conditions, the XVS is crafted for sure-footed control in the wet.
Internal construction of the XVS consists of a two-ply polyester casing supporting two steel belts. A nylon reinforcement ply enhances high-speed stability and performance.
