Michelin's Classic tires are designed for classic automobiles. Using modern materials and manufactured to original specifications, these tires preserve the vehicle's driving character and provide period-correct aesthetics.

The MXV is Michelin's Grand Touring Summer tire focused on fulfilling the needs of vintage vehicle owners looking to maintain the feel and performance of their car without compromising style. Continuing the tradition of the Michelin engineers that first developed the radial tire in 1946, the MXV was designed to deliver traction in warm, dry and wet conditions.

Designed for the sedans and convertibles of the 1980s, the MXV's compound and tread pattern were engineered to deliver performance and trustworthy on-road use. The center rib features an alternating design that maintains nonstop contact with the road, giving drivers a balanced on-center feel combined with reactive handling. Staggered grooves throughout the tread align with the tire’s circumferential channels and outboard shoulder outlets to move water outside the contact patch and keep drivers in control during rainy weather.

Internal construction of the MXV consists of a dual-ply polyester casing supporting two high tensile steel belts for a lightweight and durable tread base. A nylon reinforcement ply completes the construction for high-speed capability.
