Continental  CrossContact LX

The CrossContact LX is Continental's Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season tire developed to help crossovers, sport utility vehicles and light-duty pickup trucks perform on the highway and in light off-road conditions. The CrossContact LX is designed to reduce noise and rolling resistance* while enhancing ride comfort and all-season traction, even in light snow.

The CrossContact LX molds Continental's Tri-net silica tread compound into an asymmetric tread design that delivers all-season handling and traction. Its notched outboard shoulder supported by a continuous circumferential rib promotes on-road steering response, straight-line stability and ride comfort. Three rows of independent central tread blocks featuring interlocking sipes enhance traction in light snow while four broad circumferential grooves feature a tapered profile (widening at the tread surface) to enhance hydroplaning resistance and reduce the possibility of tire damage from stones becoming caught in the tread design. Continental's Acoustic Alterra Technology, derived from the study of sound over all surfaces, helps reduce road noise.

The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts to provide strength on top of a polyester cord body that helps cushion the ride. All sizes of the CrossContact LX come with a flanged lower sidewall to help reduce the possibility of curb damage to expensive wheels.

El neumático CrossContact LX de Continental pertenece al segmento Turismo Para Toda Estación (Crossover/SUV) y fue desarrollado para que utiliautos (crossover), vehículos utilitarios deportivos y picops para trabajo liviano, puedan desempeñarse al máximo en autopistas y en condiciones livianas todoterreno. El CrossContact LX ha sido diseñado para reducir el ruido y la resistencia al rodar*, al mismo tiempo de mejorar el confort al andar y la tracción durante todas las estaciones del año, incluyendo condiciones con nieve ligera durante el invierno.

El CrossContact LX utiliza el compuesto de sílice Tri-net de Continental y lo moldea en una banda de rodamiento asimétrica que ofrece tracción y maniobrabilidad durante todas las estaciones del año. Su hombro exterior muescado se apoya en un segmento circunferencial continuo, para proporcionar respuesta al girar el volante en carreteras, estabilidad en línea recta y confort al andar. Tres segmentos independientes centrales con bloques o tacos, que poseen pequeñas ranuras en la superficie, proporcionan mejor tracción sobre superficies cubiertas con poca nieve. Cuatro ranuras circunferenciales que se van ensanchando al nivel de la superficie, mejoran la resistencia al deslizamiento sobre agua (hydroplaning) y reducen la posibilidad de algún daño debido a piedras que se atasquen en la banda de rodamiento. La tecnología Acoustic Alterra de Continental, derivada del estudio de sonido sobre todas las superficies, ayuda a reducir el ruido de la carretera.

La estructura interna del CrossContact LX, posee correas gemelas de acero que proveen fortaleza y se encuentran ubicadas arriba de una capa de poliéster, que ayuda a amortiguar el andar.
