The MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 (240) is Michelin's Extreme Performance Summer tire developed to help drivers maximize their vehicles' on-track performance and lower lap times. Like all summer tires, the MICHELIN® Pilot® Sport Cup 2 (240) is not intended to be stored, serviced, nor driven in near-freezing temperatures, through slush, snow or on ice.
The tread of the Pilot® Sport Cup 2 (240) features an asymmetric design and utilizes Michelin's Bi-Compound Technology, with different rubber compounds on the tread's outboard and inboard regions. The expansive outboard shoulder features a High Molecular Chain tread rubber that has been specially designed to deliver exceptional grip on curves, especially in tight corners. Michelin's Track Longevity Technology 2.0 reinforces the outboard shoulder with a special, abrasion-resistant rubber to enhance endurance and longevity when used in high performance driving. The notched center ribs and inboard shoulder utilize a high-silica compound with functionalized elastomers that help deliver excellent wet traction and braking performance. Three wide, circumferential grooves work with deep, lateral notches to evacuate water from the footprint to help resist hydroplaning.
The tire's internal structure features twin steel belts with a spirally-wound, hybrid aramid and nylon reinforcement. The belt package utilizes Michelin's Wavy Summit Architecture to strategically increase pattern stiffness for improved handling and stability under aggressive inputs. The Pilot® Sport Cup 2 (240) has a polyester casing that combines ride comfort with responsive handling, and the bead is strengthened with a high modulus rubber compound that increases the tire's lateral stiffness and delivers sporty responsiveness, as well as precision steering.
A special mold tooling process uses nano laser technology engraving to produce MICHELIN® Premium Touch Technology, a process that has made it possible to create more contrast on sections of the outer sidewall using micro-geometry techniques that absorb light. The geometry of the texture permits variable contrast to create shades of black that have a velvety feel.

Finding the Best All-Around Competition Tire – 2025 Test 4F (17:45)
There are many ways for enthusiasts to compete. Autocross, track events, and time trials are just some of the ways drivers can test their mettle. When cross-competing, events don’t stop because of the rain, so is there a single tire that stands out across the board? In this test, the finale of our 2025 Extreme Performance/Track & Competition evaluations, we set out to answer that question.
Feedback patterns show the Riken Raptor HR excels in comfort, with many customers praising its smooth, quiet ride (8-10 scores). Treadwear earns consistent praise for longevity, though a few note rapid wear in aggressive driving. Winter traction is generally reliable in snow (7-10), but ice performance shows mixed results (3-7 scores). Wet traction impresses with strong hydroplaning resistance (7-10), while dry traction stands out as a highlight, described as "confident" and "responsive" (9-10 scores). Overall, customers report high satisfaction for grand touring use, with minor concerns limited to icy conditions. The tire's balanced all-season performance and refined ride quality make it a strong contender in its category.

...tires are great, made the ride comfort WAY better and grip in the rain...
Shipping was fast, tires are great, made the ride comfort WAY better and grip in the rain. I do a lot of hilly backroad driving for the daily commute, so for the price I’d definitely buy these again.

...They preform good in snow and rain, and they do great in the dry...
I got these tires for my daily driver (2005 Chevy Classic) and surprisingly they do a good job. They preform good in snow and rain, and they do great in the dry. Now the tires aren't going to WOW you with performance and handling, but for a cheep set of tires for my commuter they do everything I need them to.

...Haven't driven much in snow (Utah) but it has done well for the two times there was snow covered roads...
One of the only tires in the stock size for my car. Haven’t driven much in snow (Utah) but it has done well for the two times there was snow covered roads. Tires are probably better than I think but they’re on a 33 year old car with other issues so I can’t attest to some of the ratings I gave, just assuming.

These tires... are quiet and comfortable.
These tires are a great up grade to the stock 185/60/14 tires. I personally like a wider tire and these fit right up with no issues. Great in the rain and great on dry roads and are quiet and comfortable.

I was completely surprised immediately how comfortable the ride was, like being on a cloud...
I usually get the $600+ set of tires. These were about $89 each. I unexpectedly had to replace them and did not have $600. I was hoping that the positive reviews were true and went for it. I was completely surprised immediately how comfortable the ride was, like being on a cloud. Grip is extremely good. I also hit a pool of water on the shoulder of the road and it channeled the water really well and no slippage. I usually have the tires with the very fancy tread patterns and high mileage. I only have 500 miles but hope that it will last at least as long as the treadwear stated but so far so good. I was a bit concerned because I always go for the more well-known name brands but was pleasantly surprised and save a ton of money about half of what I normally would pay. Tires look great on my car also. You won't be disappointed. My third time buying on Tire Rack and I never left a review because those tires were good and to be expected because of the good reviews and the small fortune I paid BUT the discounted cost and great performance made me write this review because it could save someone money if they are unsure about this relatively unknown tire. I am good about tire rotations and wheel alignments so I expect these to last me awhile and even if treadlife is less than the more expensive tires I expect that I save $300 that can go toward another set of these. Only thing I would caution is going with the lesser known tires, if you have to replace one of them locally quickly, they may not be easy to find. If you can wait, then order another tire/s online and have it delivered. Hope this helps someone. Enjoying my new tires and especially more knowing that I got such a great deal.

...I expected these to last not much longer for a cheaper price, but they surprised me by lasting over a year in comparison to what is supposedly a superior treadwear tire... After 16000 miles, these still have more than 50% tread life, and I abuse them...
Used on the car because it had higher treadwear and good ratings for a cheap price. I purchased two tires for the rear of a RWD Nissan Skyline that I am too heavy on the accelerator with. (I went through the last set of rear tires in under 3 months at about 5000 miles.) I expected these to last not much longer for a cheaper price, but they surprised me by lasting over a year in comparison to what is supposedly a superior treadwear tire. The car has a lot of power and is very drifty in its setup, but was also daily driven for a long time until I got a proper daily driver. After 16000 miles, these still have more than 50% tread life, and I abuse them. I can't speak much towards the handling as I only use them on the rear wheels, but they are much better than I expected for the price.

I have two cars (different sizes) both with these tires. I like them for noise and tire wear (both low). I am a conservative driver so don't push them to their limits, but have been very happy with the two sets I have. I am going to need some more in the future and will buy these at that time. I run dedicated snow tires for about 2 months of the year, then put these back on when the snow season is over (or at least the big snow storms are over) I find them good all season tires.
