What tires are best for Ram 1500?
Ram factory-installed tire options are diverse, reflecting the varied needs and preferences of Ram owners. The perfect tires for your Ram will depend on its intended use, so it's important to consider your needs when selecting.
For instance, if your Ram is regularly tasked with hauling heavy equipment or towing loads on the road, you might want to consider tires such as the General Grabber A/TX LT275/55R20. Conversely, if you reside in snowy regions or frequently navigate backroads, the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 LT 275/65-18 could be a suitable choice. These tires not only boast a severe snow rating but also exhibit a rugged appearance while maintaining both on-road comfort and off-road traction.
What tires come on a Ram?
The tires that come on Ram vehicles depend on the year, model, and other specific details. Ram uses tires from brands like Bridgestone, Continental, and Nexen. You can look up the original equipment for your specific Ram vehicle on our tire finder by entering your vehicle's details and selecting the "original equipment" filter.
In 2021, the Ram 1500 4WD Crew Cab offered five distinct factory tire options. These options ranged from durable highway all-season tires to versatile all-terrain and crossover/SUV touring all-season tires. However, the 2021 TRX of the same year had only one tire option, the Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT, which is an all-terrain tire.
How long do Ram tires last?
Like most vehicles, tire wear on Ram vehicles is dependent on the conditions it's driven in. Generally, tires should last 2-5 years. Tires that are consistently run on-road with improper inflation could result in increased wear. Out-of-spec wheel alignment can also increase wear which is why it's important to have your alignment checked and to rotate your tires. Even if you don't drive that much, you should still replace your tires every six years as they may naturally start to degrade after that.
