The Renegade X is Radar's Off-Road Maximum Traction tire, a category often referred to as mud tires. Engineered by Radar, the tire's striking aesthetics emerge from their partnership with Italian design house GFG Style. The all-season, all-terrain "Rock-Crawl" compound of the Renegade X is molded into a symmetric high-void tread pattern to enhance grip on rocky and muddy surfaces. Massive, terrain-gripping tread blocks are designed to deliver relentless traction when it matters most, providing a stable foundation on loose or rocky surfaces. A reinforced triple-ply sidewall enhances durability, shielding against punctures and splits, while the "stealth" shaped sidewall lugs provide both additional protection and improve grip in dirt and mud. Tread groove stone bumpers and a unique textured surface in the void help eject debris, reducing the risk of stone drilling damage. Wide grooves and lateral notches enhance hydroplaning resistance, while the independent tread blocks generate biting edges for grip in wet and snowy conditions.
The internal construction of the Renegade X consists of a durable, three-ply polyester casing and sidewall for strength and durability. A two-ply, nylon reinforcement above two steel belts further increases handling response, along with providing high-speed stability.
While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces.
