The P Zero Trofeo RS is Pirelli's Streetable Track & Competition tire developed as original equipment for hypercars and supercars. The Pagani Utopia was the first vehicle to experience this evolutionary branch of the P Zero Trofeo R; the P Zero Trofeo RS is homologated for the performance needs of its individual fitments. Built to be driven by the most discerning drivers for both road and track use, it merges Pirelli's motorsport experience with its knowledge of standard road tires for a tire that can be driven in both dry and wet conditions.
Pirelli's engineers used virtual modeling to look at a wide variety of different profiles and footprints to create the performance-focused low-void asymmetric pattern of the P Zero Trofeo RS from a multi-compound tread. By carefully examining the virtual tire's response to driver input, an ideal combination of grip and control could be placed in the tire's contact patch. The thick outboard shoulder maximizes contact for enhanced cornering stability during track driving. Wide ribs on the inboard area provide precise control under acceleration and braking. Transversal grooves maintain traction and support braking, while broad circumferential channels improve water drainage for grip in damp conditions.
The tire's internal structure features a two-ply rayon casing supporting twin steel belts to stabilize the tread area, enhancing handling and high-speed capability reinforced by a polyamide cap ply, further promoting high speed stability.
Warning: P Zero Trofeo R radials meet DOT requirements, however they are not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present and there is the risk of hydroplaning; drivers should drive cautiously at reduced speeds if they encounter these conditions. This is especially true of shaved or worn tires. And like other Streetable Track & Competition tires, these tires are not intended to be stored, serviced nor driven in near- or below freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
