The Pilot Exalto PE2 (Vintage)'s ALM (Adhesion and Longevity Maximized) compound technology is molded into a performance-focused asymmetric tread pattern engineered for the excitement of sporty on-road driving. Designed for maximum surface contact with maximum lateral grip thanks to its low void combined with a solid center rib for constant connection with the road for high-speed stability and precise handling. Selective siping throughout aids in heat dissipation and wet grip alongside the four circumferential grooves working to evacuate water from the contact patch for hydroplaning resistance.
The tire's internal structure features twin, high tensile steel belts fortified with Michelin's Banded At Zero (BAZ) technology (spirally wrapped reinforcement) to stabilize the tread area enhancing handling and high-speed capability. A rayon cord body and dual sidewall reinforcements help resist lateral deflection to generate cornering force and stability.
