The Azenis FK520 is Falken's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of SUVs and crossovers who want dry and wet traction and handling in a refined package. Like all summer tires, the Azenis FK520 is not intended to be driven, stored nor serviced in near- or below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Azenis FK520's tread compound is molded into an asymmetric pattern designed to achieve precise handling, enhanced directional stability, and reduced stopping distances in both wet and dry conditions. Broad outboard shoulder blocks, diamond-cut at the edges, deliver the fine lateral grip required during performance driving. All lateral shoulder grooves feature silencing dimples to minimize noise when the ride settles down. High-angle siping offers additional biting edges in wet, slippery conditions, and four wide, circumferential grooves allow water to flow through the contact patch to resist hydroplaning.
Internally, the Azenis FK520 optimizes design and materials to achieve a lightweight construction for improved rolling resistance. The dual-ply polyester casing offers durability and its two wide, steel belts are reinforced by a hybrid Aramid and nylon undertread cap ply to provide added rigidity and high-speed stability.
Note: Street/Sport Truck Summer tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.
Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in Street/Sport Truck Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. Compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage. Tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.
