Bilstein Sports, to me, are simply the best bolt on (non coil over, stock configuration) struts and shocks that money can buy. I have experienced these on both street and track-day driven Porsches, BMW s, and now my Viggen. I also drive 1000 miles a week on the street for my job on cratered New England highways in the same car. Ride quality is firm, but fantastic. Composure is unmatched. At track days I have seen many, many drivers struggle with both adjustable coil overs and adjustable "sport" dampers and these guys seldom ever get the setup truly figured out. The non adjustable Bilstein Sports (B8 s) consistently provide better track manners and the high pressure mono tube design completely eliminates the possibility of these overheating, foaming, and "going away" when you need them most. The B8 s are also on average about 1" shorter in free length, so they work perfectly with sport/lowering springs without bottoming or the need to trim the upper bump stops. The main competition to these still seems to be the low pressure, twin tube, adjustable Koni Sports that are ok for Joe Average, but if you are talented enough to drive the wheels off your car at a track day the Konis WILL eventually overheat, foam up, and cavitate. Bilstein Sports are not cheap, with all four corners and good springs typically costing about the same as an entry-level coil over set, but they are a direct bolt on and undoubtedly the most versatile and productive setup for the vast majority of drivers who can actually drive. A true case of You Get What You Pay For, and I just can t recommend these highly enough.
