Important Note:

Brakes are a safety critical part of a motor vehicle. Brake components should be installed by a competent mechanic in a professional manner. Any incorrect installation of brake components can cause a major safety problem or an accident. If you are not a competent and qualified mechanic you should not attempt to install these products, but should take the vehicle to a vehicle dealer or competent automotive mechanic for their installation.

Disc brake pads and rotors are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Read More.

Not all replacement rotors are created equally. Cryo-Stop Premium Rotors deliver durability and appearance-enhancing features at a great price - without cutting corners.

Cryo-Stop utilizes an Electrocoating (E-coating) finish as a corrosion barrier and rotors are cryogenically treated as well, for durability and strength. They are manufactured using Original Equipment specifications and production processes to meet QS and ISO Quality System Standards.

Features

  • Premium black E-coating finish to combat corrosion on the rotor hat and between the cooling vanes
  • Cryogenically treated to greatly enhance durability
  • Castings include all O.E. details including all extractor and set screw holes
  • O.E. fin designs
  • Double disc ground finish
  • Fully machined finish including rotor hats
  • 100% inspected and mill-balanced
  • Lateral runout held to 0.002" or less

The rotors' E-coating finish, an electrostatically applied finish designed to withstand 400 hours of saltwater exposure without rusting, provides long lasting corrosion protection.

E-Coating Advantages

  • Uniform coating thickness over all areas including sharp corners, recesses and areas that would be hard to reach with spray painting
  • Paint material is water-based and nontoxic
  • Approximately 95% utilization of paint with no overspray, drip or drain losses
  • Complete paint coverage ¿ no touchup ever required

Rotor longevity, abrasive wear-resistance and strength are ensured via Cryo-Stop's deep cryogenic process. Cooled to -300 degrees F and then slowly returned to room temperature, the process permanently and dramatically affects the metal structure inhibiting internal oxidation and increasing thermal fatigue resistance. Cryogenically treated rotors can last up to three times as long as untreated rotors. See Cryogenics 101.

Cryo-Stop Premium Rotors also feature a double disc ground, taper-free finish for quieter, smoother stops. Double disc grinding ensures parallelism, eliminates run out and provides near perfect disc thickness variation (DTV). Double disc grinding leaves a non-directional finish on the friction surface area, as well, for more effective pad/rotor break-in.

And for enhanced braking power and safety, an O.E. specification center-split core casting provides proper heat transfer and thermal efficiency.

The rotors are also 100% fully machined, including the rotor hats. This extra process provides better rotor balance and creates a cleaner, more finished looking component. Finally, all Cryo-Stop rotors are 100% inspected for balance and mill-corrected to a tolerance of less than 2 oz. per inch.

I replaced my front and rear brake pads and rotors on Christmas eve 2017. I now my rear pads are completely worn down to the point of metal to metal in a matter of 8 months and 18000 or so miles. I got the preferred pack that came with rotors and pads but I am assuming these are the cheapest pads this company can offer. I am extremely disappointed with the brake wear. In comparison, the front pads are at 70% over 8 months. Usually the front wear faster than the rear but not with this set.

These rotors were great in terms of all the ratings from Tirerack such as stopping power, dust, fade, etc. However, after about 30K miles they've warped badly. It's certainly possible that I did something to cause them to warp. Or maybe the Akebono pads somehow warped them (I have no idea how that would happen). However, I'm very careful not to go through puddles and I downshift rather than ride the brakes when going down hills for extended periods of time to avoid excessive heat. So if I did something, I'm now aware of it. Either way, I plan on purchasing some Stoptech rotors and seeing if I encounter the same problem. We'll see.

My odyssey got the pulsing brake pedal after about 19k miles. I was too lazy to take it to the dealer and by the time I thought of doing it I was out of warranty. I wasn t going to put the same crappy stock rotors back on. I did some research and these got good reviews, so I took a chance. Initially these were great. Solved my pulsing brake pedal problem. But after 10k miles or so, the problem came back. Since then Honda has come out with a different replacement rotor that has cooling holes in the hat area of the rotor. I could have bought cheaper non-cryo rotors and gotten the same poor results, which is why I am rating these so low.
