Upgrade your fleet or tow vehicle's braking performance with Hawk Performance's SuperDuty, Severe-Duty compound!

Hawk's SuperDuty Ferro-Carbon material is engineered for severe-duty professional truck fleets as well as trucks and SUVs frequently towing heavy loads. This material offers unmatched performance under high inertia and/or repetitive braking applications.

To drive safely with heavy payloads it is critical to have brakes that operate properly. Commercial fleet trucks and light trucks/SUVs carrying or towing heavy payloads experience high braking temperatures. Higher temperatures contribute to premature brake pad and rotor wear and directly effect brake pad fade or loss of friction. Hawk Performance's SuperDuty product is a severe-duty pad that has an extremely high coefficient of friction designed to provide maximum stopping power with excellent high temperature heat dissipation.

Features and Benefits

  • Stable friction output
  • Extremely fade resistant
  • Extended pad life
  • Increased rotor life
  • Much improved braking over OE pads

Brake pads are wear items and as such, should be inspected regularly and replaced as necessary. Pads should be replaced when approximately 1/8th inch of friction material remains on the steel backing plate.

Note: Even though Hawk Performance burnishes its brake pads as a final step in the factory, all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

The braking performance of these pads are great. They bite hard, keep slowing me down all the way to the stop. With drilled and slotted rotors I get the noise coming to a stop at higher speeds and more brake pedal input. Kind of sounds like a "hum" that decreases with speed and as I reduce brake pedal input. That is something I can live with but at lower speeds mostly stop and go in town driving I am getting this grinding type noise. Checking pads and rotors and nothing is wrong but this noise is always present. Every time my wife and I drive together she wants me to check the brakes again. Drove this weekend at an event where I was stuck driving around looking for parking and the brakes were grinding the entire time. Sounds like I'm driving on metal to metal and this noise is something I can't handle. I don't know if it is due to combination of drilled/slotted rotors but I have ran these type of rotors on many vehicles without this same noise. It sounds more like sintered metal brake pads for my street bike. For a personal vehicle this grinding noise is something that is making me replace the pads. They are so little miles on them and will lose the money I spent on them. I love their performance but the slow speed noise is a problem.

I purchased this combination based on a calculated risk of how these two components would work well together on a 2007 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. I felt that the StopTech discs would be fantastic with the cryogenic treatment, which they are. They re insanely good! I m near midlife and tomorrow I intend to measure the discs width to see what wear they have experienced. There is a significant buildup of brake dust in the drilled ports that I have needed to blow out with the compressor. The brake feel through the pedal is excellent due in part to the Hawk pads, and they heat up quickly and only fade, well beyond where a normal driver would take a vehicle like this one. In my case they didn t dust the wheels very much even with a drilled, relatively hard disc and the mentioned build up in the ports. Last week the rear axle received the same treatment at the front. Therefore on followup I will have an opportunity to share how each axle worked with this set up. Looks good so far!
