The WildPeak R/T01 is Falken's Rugged All-Terrain tire built for light trucks, full-size SUVs, and full-size pickup truck fitments. The WildPeak R/T01 is built with a chip-and-tear resistant all-terrain compound, molded into a hybrid tread pattern designed to maximize the contact its central tread blocks make, for ideal rubber-to-road manners and stability on the highway. Broad, open shoulders feature rock ejectors and mud breakers within the grooves to augment off-road traction and keep damaging rocks from causing unexpected flats. The tread blocks themselves are fashioned with built-in steps, what Falken calls Tectonic tread blocks, to minimize block squirm for stable hauling and towing. The high-void design of the tread, open shoulders and extensive groove network allow easy displacement of water for hydroplaning resistance. Siping throughout and additional biting edges within the tread aid the WildPeak R/T01's snow-to-snow traction in winter conditions.
Internal construction of WildPeak R/T01 tires feature a robust two-ply polyester casing focused on balancing durability and comfort, with select heavy duty sizes including a 3rd ply. Two high-strength steel belts support the tread and are reinforced by a two-ply polyamide cap for further added durability.
