The Solus 4S HA32 is Kumho's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for passenger cars, coupes and crossovers looking for capable traction in all weather conditions throughout the year. The Solus 4S HA32 meets industry severe snow service requirements and is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The Solus 4S HA32 begins with a pine-resin infused rubber compound molded it into a V-shaped directional tread pattern for a myriad of driving benefits built off a simple, elegant design. The points of each individual "V" work together to form the tire's center "rib", connected with 3D sloped tie-bars for straight-line rigidity, quick handling and a solid on-center feeling. As the "V" shape extends toward the shoulder, the channels expand for efficient water evacuation to fight hydroplaning in rainy weather. In addition to its grippy pine-resin compound, the Solus 4S HA32 utilizes five different types of sipes, including interlocking 3D sipes in the tread blocks to resist deformation, while providing a multitude of additional biting edges to maximize winter traction and safety.
Internal construction features a dual-ply polyester casing for a blend of responsiveness, handling and a comfortable ride. Two high tensile steel belts offer the foundation needed to maintain evenly distributed pressure under high loads. Finally, two nylon reinforcement plies complete the construction for stable high-speed behavior.
Note: While non-winter tires featuring the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol may provide additional longitudinal snow traction beyond what all-season (M+S) tires not bearing the symbol can deliver, they do not match the capability of a true winter tire in all adverse weather conditions.
