Cooper Tires

Cooper's origins date back to 1914 with the production of tire patches, tire cement and tire repair kits as the M and M Manufacturing Company in Akron, Ohio. In 1915, the Giant Tire & Rubber Company of Akron was acquired, and in 1917 was moved to Findlay, Ohio, where Cooper is headquartered to this day. The firm has been producing tires under the Cooper Tire & Rubber Company name since 1946, with over 10,000 employees worldwide.

As an American company with a global footprint, Cooper has operations in a dozen countries and distributes tires around the world, with a primary focus on passenger car and light vehicle replacement tires in North America. In addition to the flagship Cooper line, the company owns Melksham, England-based Avon Tyres Limited and Mickey Thompson Tires. As of 2021, Cooper Tires is owned by Goodyear Tire & Rubber.

Tire Rack offers Cooper Zeon and Cobra Radial G/T performance tires and CS5 and CS3 touring tires, as well as Discoverer and Evolution light truck tires, along with other lines used as Original Equipment on new vehicles.
